Effective August 8, 2023, Fred C. Church Insurance welcomed Damual Greaves to its Education team as a Client Executive. In this role, Damual will be responsible for cultivating new business opportunities in the education space and helping prospective and existing clients identify their top risks and obtain the best insurance solutions for their exposures.
Damual joins Fred C. Church after serving in a variety of risk management roles at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Most recently, Damual held the position of Assistant Director, Office of Insurance, overseeing many elements of MIT’s academic insurance program; developing annual insurance strategy and budgets; assisting with policy renewal activities such as analysis of underwriting data and terms and pricing negotiations; and consulting with colleagues on issues related to operational risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
Damual reports directly to Bill Burbine, Senior Vice President, Sales Leader, who says, “Damual brings a unique skill set to the Fred C. Church Commercial Lines team. He has experience in both the education space and risk management, firsthand knowledge of what it’s like to be on the client side in the insurance process, and strong ties with many of the associations we work with. He will hit the ground running and make an immediate impact, helping us achieve our goal of becoming a national insurance leader with educational institutions.”
While Damual will focus primarily on clients in Fred C. Church’s education vertical, the firm will tap into his expertise to support business development across all industries. He will also work closely with the Claims and Service teams to manage clients’ complex insurance issues.
About this next stage in his career, Damual says, “Having collaborated with members of the Fred C. Church Education team for years, I know how deeply committed they are to higher education risk management. I am excited to help continue to build on this positive reputation, offer insights that lead to the best solutions for our clients, and maintain long-standing relationships and develop new ones with schools, carriers, and vendors.”
Damual’s awards and accomplishments continue to accumulate. He is a graduate of MIT’s Leader to Leader (L2L) program, which aims to develop thoughtful, inclusive leaders, and he earned the MIT Infinite Mile Award for providing valuable service to the university’s community, strengthening its culture, and uplifting his colleagues. Damual is also a frequent speaker at University Risk Management and Insurance Association (URMIA) events and is an active local chapter member in the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS).
