The CT-based insurer has signed onto TrustedChoice.com as both an investor and a listed carrier
Travelers has signed on to Project CAP. The Hartford-based insurer, which is one of the largest property casualty companies in the the nation, has thrown its weight behind the site as both an investor and a listed carrier:
“We are very excited to have Travelers on board,” said Charles “Chip” Bacciocco, CEO of Project CAP. “Their leadership, support and active participation on TrustedChoice.com will be critical as we move forward, building the online marketing platform of the future for independent agents and brokers.”
Going forward, the insurer, who currently works with more than 13,000 independent insurance agents in the U.S., plans to aid in the ongoing development of Project CAP. In addition to the Trusted Choice website, this also will include helping to improve the digital marketing services that Project CAP offers agents in addition to the on-line consumer portal.
As a further signal of Travelers commitment to independent agents, Project CAP announced that Greg Toczydlowski, President of Personal Insurance at Travelers, will serve on the Project CAP Board of Directors.
“We couldn’t be more pleased to invest in Project CAP and help our agents compete more effectively in the digital space,” said Toczydlowski. “This partnership further demonstrates our commitment to the independent agent channel.”
“This is an exciting time for the independent agent channel,” says Robert Rusbuldt, Big “I” president and CEO. “TrustedChoice.com has enjoyed tremendous growth, and we’re happy to have Travelers as a partner to help us better position agents to compete in a digital world.”

April traffic was strong says Project CAP
Project CAP says that TrustedChoice.com generated almost 150,000 site visits in April, 10,000 more than the site garnered in March, and is on track to garner more than 1,000,000 million visits in 2014. Independent agents in Massachusetts currently lead the nation in subscriptions to the site, although specific numbers as to how many actual leads the site has generated for Mass. agents are not currently available.
Even with the site’s growth and its support from independent agents here in the Commonwealth, some Mass. agents have criticized the TrustedChoice.com site over its search capabilities and agent listings.
