Paul Brady, chief information officer and vice president of Information Technology for the Arbella Insurance Group, has been named the 2015 CIO of the Year. The annual CIO of the Year award, bestowed by the Boston Business Journal, recognizes a chief information officer who demonstrates excellence in technology leadership.
The annual award, presented along with the Boston CIO Leadership Association, “…recognizes chief information officers who have demonstrated excellence in technology leadership.” The award is presented to CIOs and other in equivalent positions in five different categories: Global, Enterprise, Corporate, Non-profit/Public Sector, and a special Leadership Award.
All of the CIO candidates and winners are selected by an independent panel of judges comprised on CIO peers and prior award recipients. The winners are chosen based upon their innovation, leadership, business value creation and community involvement. Mr. Brady was honored in the Enterprise category which honors those CIOs in companies with over $500 million in revenue.

Mr. Brady joined Arbella Mutual in 2010 after a decade with Liberty Mutual Insurance. Within his first year at the Quincy-based insurer, Mr. Brady was promoted to CUO and vice president of Information Technology. A graduate of Bentley University, Mr. Brady also holds a master’s degree in computer information systems from his alma mater as well. In addition to his work with Arbella, he is also an active member of Big Brothers Big Sisters, the United Way, Project Bread, and the Bentley University Alumni Association.
