Mr. Thompson was a Senior Investment Manager prior to joining the property & casualty company
The Norfolk & Dedham Group has announced the addition of Michael Thompson as its new Director, Finance and Investment. Mr. Thompson, who joined the Dedham-based property and casualty insurer just before Thanksgiving, was formerly a Senior Investment Manager. In his new position, he will play a prominent role in evaluating the strategic investments and asset allocation of the company.

Mr. Thompson brings a wealth of experience to his new position
In his new role, Mr. Thompson brings more than 30 years experience in investment management to Norfolk & Dedham. His extensive experience spans focusing on asset allocation and risk positioning for insurance companies to acting as a portfolio manager and securities analyst specializing in the insurance industry.
Most recently, he was a Vice President, Relationship Manager, Financial Reserves Management for the Wellington Management Company. In the past, Mr. Thompson also has held leadership positions with State Street Global Advisors, Insurevest Consulting, and Standish Mellon Asset Management.
A graduate of Lehigh University, Mr. Thompson received his MBA in Finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University. For the past 16 years he has volunteered with YouthBuild USA, where he formerly served as the Chair, Investment Committee and Member of the Finance Committee and currently serves on the Major Gifts Committee.
