April 3, 2017 by AC Editor

Monday mash-up is a list of news that we were not able to write full articles on, but thought our readers would be interested to know about them just the same…

The Hanover launches a new Professional Liability Risk Management Portal

On March 24th, The Hanover announced that it had formally launched a new online portal for Professional Liability Risk Management. Called HanoverProRisk, the new portal which is tailored to the specific needs of the professional liability industry, offers a slew of features, articles, templates, risk bulletins and seminars to help both agents and their customers.

“We understand how critical the right information can be to preventing and managing risk, both for our agents and policyholders,” said Greg Leffard, president, Hanover professional. “This portal is a true differentiator for our company, offering support to customers of all types and sizes, while others often restrict these services to larger accounts.”

Hey Google – Let me Talk to Progressive

Progressive has become the first insurer to offer home and auto tips on Google Home, Google’s answer to the Amazon Echo.

According to Google, customers need only say ‘Google, let me talk to Progressive’ after which, an individual can have all their insurance questions answered.

“While most people don’t think about insurance much, when they do have a question, Progressive wants to make it as easy as possible for them to get help by being available where, when and how they want to interact with us,” said Dan Witalec, Customer Acquisition Leader, Progressive.

“When we realized the popularity of voice-activated assistants like Google Home, we wanted to work with Google to be helpful. We’ve got some nice content to start, but we’ll also monitor the types of questions Google Home customers ask us and make adjustments as needed.”

For those interested in seeing what Google Home looks like, here is a screenshot we captured:

And possibly the most important tech integration of all:

Agency Checklists, MA Insurance News, Mass. Insurance NewsBoston’s own Dunkin’ Donuts has announced that it is the first brand to launch on Waze’s new “Order Ahead” feature. For those unfamiliar with Waze,  it is a free, real-time crowdsourced traffic and navigation app. Here’s what DD had to say about it in their official announcement:

Dunkin’ Donuts has become the first partner for Waze’s new feature, “Order Ahead,” which lets Wazers save time in line by submitting orders in the Dunkin’ Donuts Mobile App. With today’s launch, members of the DD Perks® Rewards Program can order their favorite Dunkin’ coffee, beverage, donut or breakfast sandwich directly by connecting to Dunkin’ Donuts’ On-the-Go Mobile Ordering feature through the Waze app before hitting the road, then speed past the line to pick it up inside a Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant.

Important Note: To utilize Waze’s new Order Ahead feature, Dunkin’ Donuts guests must update their Dunkin’ Mobile App for their for iPhone, iPod touch and Android smartphones.

Now that’s a tech integration that can change your life, or at least your mornings.
