Arbella has been one of the Boston Business Journal’s “Best Places to Work” for an impressive tenth year in a row. The annual award honors Boston-based businesses noted for their high levels of employee satisfaction and positive workplace cultures.
As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, we are thrilled to be selected as one of the Best Places to Work for the tenth consecutive year,” said Ellen Mann, assistant vice president of human resources at the Arbella Insurance Group. “At Arbella, our employees come first and play a vital role in the success of our business. Over the past three decades, we have constantly looked for new ways to support them professionally, collaboratively and personally, and we are excited to continue to build an environment in which our employees thrive.”
Arbella has implemented a number of programs to make this Quincy-based insurer both work and family friend. Acording to the company, fifty percent of the employees it hired in 2017 came via employee referrals. On average, Arbella employees remain with the company for at least 10 years, with another 10 percent of its employees having been with the company since its founding 30 years ago.
“I am finally at a company that genuinely wants what is best for me from a work-life balance and career perspective,” said Keisha Pierre, senior IT business analyst. “I’ve learned so much and continue to grow at Arbella while building so many great relationships with my co-workers. I’m grateful to come to work every day knowing that I love where I work and what I do.”
The Boston Business Journal’s annual “Best Places to Work” program recognizes 80 extra small, small, medium, large and extra large sized businesses whose benefits and unique initiatives put them ahead on the employee satisfaction curve. To select the winners, employees from Massachusetts-based companies participate in an anonymous survey that asks about company benefits, atmosphere, values and loyalty. The results are analyzed by a third-party research firm, and the winners are broken down into five categories based on size.
The 2018 “Best Places to Work” rankings will be released at a June 20 event at Symphony Hall in Boston.
