Travelers Announces Jay S. Benet to Step Down as CFO; Daniel S. Frey to Assume the Role
Effective Sept. 1, Jay S. Benet will step down from his role as Chief Financial Officer of Travelers, a position he has held since 2002. Benet will remain on the senior leadership team as Vice Chairman.

Daniel S. Frey will succeed Benet and become Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective Sept. 1. Frey currently serves as Chief Financial Officer of the company’s Personal Insurance segment, having served in a number of other key financial management roles across Travelers over the past 15 years.
Schnitzer added, “Dan has a proven track record as a finance leader at Travelers. His deep technical expertise, strategic mindset and collaborative style make him the perfect candidate to assume the role as our next CFO as we execute on our perform and transformstrategic agenda. I couldn’t be more pleased to have Dan as a partner as he joins our senior leadership team.”
Frey brings to his new role more than three decades of finance and accounting experience. Prior to his current role, Frey served as Chief Financial Officer of the company’s Claim and Field Management organizations. Before joining Travelers, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Spalding Sports Worldwide. He began his career in public accounting at Deloitte & Touche. Frey received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Connecticut.
As Vice Chairman, Benet will support the transition to Frey for a period of time and then take on a variety of responsibilities, including serving as a strategic advisor to the rest of the Travelers senior leadership team.
Mike Wise Joins WAHVE, HR As Its Chief Sales Officer
Boston-based, Mike Wise has joined WAHVE as its new Chief Sales Office and will be focused on “Connecting ‘Vintage’ HR Pro’s with enterprise HR part-time and/or project jobs.”
According to his Linked biography, Mr. Wise’s career experience includes the following, “…25 years of B2B sales, 10 years in insurance e-commerce, 6 years in Social Tech, and 12 years in HCM/HRIS. Mike is an accomplished problem-solver, helping clients clearly see their current state, desired future states, and realistic pathways for change.

Six Employees Honored By Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company At 20 Plus Reception
Employees Recognized at 41st Annual Event to Celebrate Employees’ Loyalty and Dedication
Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company, a national provider of insurance solutions for individuals and at the workplace, today announced six employees who reached a twenty-year milestone with the company. These employees were honored alongside more than 50 other employees with twenty or more years at the company’s 41st Annual 20 Plus Club Recognition Reception. The event, hosted on June 21, 2018, acknowledged the employees’ long-term dedication to Boston Mutual.

Quaranto, Jr., Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President at Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company. “We understand the importance of recognizing those who have devoted themselves to our collective efforts to deliver on our promises to our policyholders and producers.”

This year’s recognized employees, which included five individuals with 40 years or more of service to the company, celebrated their tenure at the Granite Links Golf Club in Quincy, Massachusetts. Employees who retired this year before June 30 were also recognized at the event. The 20 Plus Club Recognition Reception is one of many events Boston Mutual hosts throughout the year to recognize its employees’ commitment to the company, including quarterly Service Recognition Celebrations to honor employees’ quinquennial milestones.
