Hanover’s new small commercial platform Insurago is powered by CoverWallet
In another sign of the industry’s growing acceptance of insurtech and the possibilities it holds for both insurers and agents, Worcester-based The Hanover has announced the launch of Insurago, its new customer-facing digital platform. Powered by CoverWallet, Insurago is a new innovative partnership enabling Hanover’s independent agency partners to place a personalized link on their agency website or social media channels, thereby allowing customers to easily quote and issue a policy through The Hanover.
“Our agent partners play a vital role in our digital and innovation efforts as we seek ways to help them engage with their customers in a rapidly changing marketplace,” said Richard W. Lavey, president, Hanover Agency Markets at The Hanover. “We believe Insurago presents the best of both worlds: a digital selling solution for a fast-growing, underserved market paired with easy access to real life agent expertise for customers who may need guidance or support. We’re starting with our professional liability lines of business and in the future plan to expand into other areas of our business using the Insurago tool.”
“The Hanover is leveraging technology and delivering innovative products to their agents that are differentiators in the industry,” said Amanjot Khaira, senior vice president of product at CoverWallet. “They are terrific partners, and we are looking forward to continuing to work with them.”

Agents can quote and issue policies through the Insurago tool
Initially, Insurago is offering only professional liability insurance via the platform, focusing on those freelancers, independent contractors and self-employed professionals who need professional liability insurance. According to the Hanover, with over 100 classes of business available, Insurago will be a useful tool for independent agents looking to acquire new types of insureds from consultants, to IT contractors, to fitness and healthcare professionals, for example. In addition to issuing policies, Insurago also will be able to field questions and provide counsel to customers who access the platform via an agent’s site.
“We continue to see an increase in the number of professionals who need specialized insurance coverages, especially with the prevalence of freelance work,” said Bryan J. Salvatore, president, specialty at The Hanover. “We are excited to be able to offer our agents a tailored professional liability offering that allows them to acquire new business in an efficient way.”
Another benefit, The Hanover says of agents who use Insurago is that agents can direct potential customers to the Insurago tool via their website, offering an insurance-buying process that can be completed in approximately 15 minutes from start to finish. Customers can also view and print their policies as well as download insurance certificates via Insurago as well.
Agents who are interested in accessing The Hanover’s Insurago platform can do so by contacting their local Hanover representative or by visiting The Hanover’s agent portal.
