New Addition To Sales Team Aim To Strengthen Fred C. Church’s Growth Strategy
Fred C. Church Insurance is pleased to welcome industry veteran, George H. Lucas to their growing agency. Lucas, who accepted the position of Director of Business Development, will be responsible for the management and facilitation of the agency’s sales process and organic growth strategy.
Four years ago, Mike Reilly, President and Chairman of Fred C. Church, rolled out a companywide initiative. “The insurance industry as a whole is currently in the middle of a talent crisis. Many industry veterans are getting ready to retire in the next 5 to 10 years, and the job market is very competitive with unemployment at an all-time low. To continuously grow our agency and increase sales, consciously hiring new talent despite these challenges is essential to our growth goals. Which is why in 2015, we decided to roll out a robust five-year hiring initiative,” said Reilly.
The first step of Fred C. Church’s talent initiative was to hire several new producers to grow the sales force. Over the last three years, the independent agency has successfully recruited and hired ten new insurance agents, all with varying degrees of experience, with the help of Ally Bois, Recruiting and Communications Manager. However, to properly onboard the new staff and ensure they understood the agency’s unique and strategic sales process, Reilly decided to bring on Lucas in a full-time position which would allow him to support and continue to develop the growing sales team.
Lucas has been operating as a sales consultant for Fred C. Church since 2015. With over four years working in tandem with senior management, advising the producers and helping to streamline the sales process, accepting the position as Director of Business Development was a natural fit.
In addition to consulting with Fred C. Church, Lucas played a central role in assisting a variety of other companies with the development of more proactive and proficient organic growth cultures. While working at Schul Baker Partners for a competitive risk management brokerage firm, he pioneered a Business Development School program which specifically trained the sales teams. This innovative program was created for the client’s U.S. and international teams and was credited for helping their producers and client executives advance their relationship management and negotiation skills.
“Fred C. Church supports a culture of continued education, so we knew that George was the right person for the job. Not only does he work well with our team, but he also has over a quarter century of industry experience, and a proven track record of aligning sales strategies and solutions that provide positive results. George is a real asset to our team,” said Reilly.
