The Commonwealth Automobile Reinsurer’s website posted a special notice on Friday January 28, 2011 regarding its search for a new President after the announcement of current President, Ralph [Buddy] Iannaco’s retirement scheduled for later this year.
“The Chairman of the Governing Committee, William Cahill, pursuant to M.G.L. 30A sec. 18-25, has determined that CAR’s ability to attract qualified applicants for the position of Executive Officer will be compromised if the entire search process is conducted in an Open Meeting…”
As such, the selection of a new CAR President will be conducted via a “Preliminary Screening Committee.” Members of this committee which have already had two discussions include the Chair, David Cochrane of the Commerce Insurance Company, Richard Jones of the Leslie S. Ray Insurance Agency, Inc., Joseph Vargas of the Vargas & Vargas Insurance Agency, and Mr. Cahil of The Hanover Insurance Company.
A progress report of the selection process will be provided at the next Governing Committee.
