Online insurance carrier Lemonade has announced via Twitter that it is now offering pet insurance in Massachusetts. Here is a screenshot of the official announcement:
Lemonade’s pet insurance product was first launched in July of 2020, at $12 per month and featuring a Preventative and Wellness Package including routine wellness exams, dental cleaning, medical advice chat, and vaccines. In commenting on the then launch, Lemonade CEO and co-founder Daniel Schreiber said the following:
“The US pet insurance market is valued at a couple of billion dollars, and with the increasing number of pet adoptions coupled with rising veterinary costs, we believe this market can grow rapidly. Lemonade’s unique take on pet health insurance couldn’t be easier, or faster. This includes getting claims paid in seconds, accessing preventative care, receiving live health and wellness recommendations, and supporting animal nonprofits all from the comfort of your phone. Few insurers offer any of these features, and none offers them all.”
With the addition of the Bay State, Lemonade Pet Insurance is now available in 17 states nationwide.
