Ellen Barnett Retires; Insurance Library of Boston Seeks New Executive Director

In a surprise announcement, Ellen Barnett has stepped down as the Executive Director of the Insurance Library Association of Boston. Ms. Barnett who took over the helm of the 125-year institution last fall, announced her retirement this past week in order to relocate to North Carolina.

The executive director will have responsibility for the general oversight of the day-to-day operations of the Library, evaluate and recommend changes to the Library’s current physical plant, and invigorate the marketing aspects of the Library, including increasing education/training opportunities, fostering membership, and visibility of the Library overall.  Candidates should be skilled in general management, budgeting, current applications of information delivery technology, methods of fundraising and external marketing.  Insurance industry experience and knowledge is preferred, although not required.   Salary based on experience.  If you are interested in applying, please email your resume, in confidence, to nadams@mintz.com.
