February 8, 2016 by AC Editor

Agency Checklists, MA Insurance News, Mass. Insurance News, Mass. agent NewsCross Insurance has appointed John Papanastasiou to manage the agency’s Peabody office.  Based in Bangor, Cross Insurance is a subsidiary of Cross Financial Corp., one of the largest independent insurance providers in New England. Mr. Papanastasiou, who was welcomed into the Cross family-owned agency earlier this month, will assume the day-to-day responsibility of running and growing the Peabody office.

“John is a true insurance professional with knowledge and experience that will be a real asset to our Peabody office,” said Jonathan Cross, Executive Vice President of Cross Insurance.  “We gladly welcome John to the Cross Insurance team.”

A Lynn native, now residing in Salem, Mr. Papanastasiou has more than thirty-year’s experience in the Massachusetts insurance industry. In 1985, he founded his own insurance agency, eventually moving on to work for several other insurance firms, including B.K. McCarthy in Peabody. He is licensed as both an insurance and real estate agent, as well as a Notary Public, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Lynn Boys and Girls Club. Mr. Papanastasiou obtained his degree in Pyschology from Boston College.

“I’m proud to join Cross Insurance, a well-respected and growing company in the insurance industry,” Papanastasiou said. “I look forward to this new management role within the Cross family of companies.”

Cross Insurance’s presence in Massachusetts

Founded in 1954 by Woodrow Cross, Cross Insurance has grown via strategic acquisitions over the past 60 years to become one of the largest insurance agencies in New England. In Massachusetts alone, the agency now has ten office locations.

Still family-owned and operated, the agency has more than 700 employees operating out of 35 offices located in Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Florida.
