Ms. Kostro will lead the Arbella Commercial Lines organization
QUINCY, Mass. – The Arbella Insurance Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Susan Kostro as senior vice president of Commercial Lines. Reporting to Arbella CEO John Donohue, Kostro will lead the Arbella Commercial Lines organization and will be responsible for all functional areas of the department. Her responsibilities will include strategic initiatives to grow the company’s commercial business in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Rhode Island, while maintaining and strengthening the strong relationships that Arbella enjoys with its 350 commercial insurance agents.

Kostro is a seasoned executive with more than 30 years of commercial underwriting leadership and technical experience. A native New Englander, she brings a deep knowledge of the area to the role. Most recently, she was senior vice president and chief underwriting officer for Liberty Mutual’s commercial public entity division. She spent seventeen years in leadership roles with AIG and AIG Lexington in their public entity division before joining the newly formed Ironshore which was eventually acquired by Liberty Mutual. Her experience includes achieving large growth and production goals, successfully building products, leading distribution and marketing efforts and developing and leading underwriting teams.
Kostro received a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Bentley University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She is a resident of Belmont and is passionate about her charity work and regularly volunteers in her community.
