Arbella Announces New Discount For Massachusetts Homeowners

December 10, 2019 by Agency Checklists

The insurer is offering a five percent discount to residents who receive a Mass Save® Home Energy Assessment

Arbella has teamed up with the Sponsors of Mass Save to offer its Massachusetts insureds a new way to save money on their homeowners insurance. The Quincy-based insurer has announced that it is offering a five percent discount on an active home or dwelling fire policy to any of its new or current customers who complete a no-cost in-home energy assessment with a Mass Save Sponsor

“We are proud to be the first insurance company in Massachusetts to offer this discount to residents,” said John Donohue, chief executive officer of Arbella Insurance Group. “Providing innovative offerings to our customers is important. This new, unique partnership between the Sponsors of Mass Save and Arbella allows us to offer savings to our current and prospective customers. As an added bonus, we hope it will encourage residents in Massachusetts to have more energy-efficient homes.”

The new discount which began on November 1, 2019, also will allow customers who have completed an in-home energy assessment within the previous two years to obtain the discount. According to Arbella, the Mass Save discount may be applied to a policy at any time during the policy year.

Mass Save is comprised of local electric and natural gas utilities and energy efficiency service providers in Massachusetts taking strides to maximize energy efficiency efforts statewide. Mass Save is comprised of Berkshire Gas, Blackstone Gas Company, Cape Light Compact, Columbia Gas, Eversource, Liberty Utilities, National Grid and Unitil.

“On behalf of the Sponsors of Mass Save, we are thrilled to be working with Arbella to pass along these added savings to residents of the Commonwealth,” said Chris Porter, director of customer energy management – New England from National Grid. “When Arbella approached us with this idea, we recognized the additional impact we could have. Arbella’s commitment to serving the community aligns with our goal to help residents and businesses across Massachusetts save money and energy, leading the state to a clean and energy-efficient future.”

Once a Mass Save discount is applied, it will remain on all subsequent policy renewals without expiration.
