AssuredPartners Northeast Acquires Fessenden & Sykes

January 26, 2021 by AC Editor

National broker adds another Massachusetts agency to its growing portfolio

From L to R: Peter Sykes, President of Fessenden & Sykes, Robert Ramsey, Agency President at AssuredPartners Northeast, LLC.

Another independent agency has officially joined AssuredPartners Northeast. The national broker announced that Lexington’s Fessenden & Sykes Insurance Agency, Inc. has joined its ranks. The broker which is relatively new to the Massachusetts marketplace continues to rapidly expand throughout the area.

“The team at Fessenden & Sykes conveys true customer service and dedication to their community,” AssuredPartners Regional President, Tom Kozera stated in an official announcement. “We are pleased to have Fessenden & Sykes join our growing team in the Northeast marketplace.”

“AssuredPartners culture and strategic growth is exciting for our Northeast operations,” added AssuredPartners CEO, Tom Riley. “Growth through these amazing partnerships is what makes AssuredPartners so unique. We would like to welcome the clients of our new partner, Fessenden & Sykes Insurance Agency.”

A longtime agency located in the Lexington area

Founded in 1964 by Dick Sykes, Fessenden & Sykes has been serving the Lexington area for over five decades. Now run by Peter Sykes, the agency principal decided to sell the agency upon retiring from the insurance industry.

In particular, he noted that his decision to sell his agency to AssuredPartners was due to his long-term professional relationship with Robert Ramsey. Mr. Ramsey’s own agency, WTPhelan, was acquired by the national broker last summer. As a result, his decision to retire from the insurance industry was made easier knowing he would sell his agency to AssuredPartners, ensuring a seamless transition for his valued customers under Mr. Ramsey’s leadership.

“It has been our family’s sincere pleasure to serve our valued customers. I am confident that they will enjoy working with the experienced staff at AssuredPartners and will continue to enjoy the warm and friendly atmosphere that has always been a hallmark of our agency”, said current President Peter Sykes in announcing the sale of his agency.
