Mr. Hughes First Joined Arbella in 2012
The Arbella Insurance Group is pleased to announce the promotion of Bill Hughes to Senior Vice President of their Commercial Lines division.
Hughes was hired by Arbella as Assistant Vice President of Commercial Lines in 2012 and was promoted to Vice President in 2020. Since then, Hughes has been successful in leading the commercial team to an achievement of $300 million in premium and growing. He has built a talented commercial team under his leadership, consistently achieving profitable combined ratios year over year. Hughes has been critical to building a marquis commercial business, making Arbella a go to market for their independent agent partners.
Hughes’ insurance career spans over thirty years beginning with Kemper Insurance. He has deep expertise in loss control and underwriting and has his CPCU designation. Prior to joining Arbella in 2012, he was with HUB International and Liberty Mutual in sales leadership positions. “Bill has done an outstanding job leading and profitably growing Arbella’s commercial business over the last four years. His ability to build strong relationships has made him well respected by our independent agents, employees, and his executive peers. His deep knowledge of underwriting and loss control is second to none,” said John Donohue. “Bill is a passionate leader, and we are lucky to have him on our team.”
