Burlington-based worker’s compensation insurer, Associated Industries of Massachusetts Mutual Insurance Companies, has announced the promotion of Cheryl A. Begans and Glenn S. MacDonald within the insurers’ Finance Department. Both Ms. Began and Mr. MacDonald will report to the Companies’ Controller Paul Kehoe in their new positions.
Cheryl A. Began
Ms. Began has been elected as the Corporate Secretary of the Companies. The promotion, which took effect on June 1st of this year, was announced at the end of A.I.M. Mutual’s 25th Annual Meeting and Board of Directors Meeting held on May 6, 2014.
Apart from her new role as Corporate Secretary of the Companies, Ms. Began also will continue in her role as Statutory Accounting Manager, a position she has held at the company since 2011. A graduate of Simmons College, Ms. Began first joined A.I.M. Mutual in 2000 and since then has held various accounting positions within the worker’s compensation insurer’s Finance Department.
Glenn S. MacDonald
In addition to Ms. Began’s appointment, the Companies also announced that Mr. MacDonald has been promoted to Director of Finance. Until recently, he was a Financial Analyst for the Companies. A 25-year veteran of the insurance industry, Mr. MacDonald was with the Hartford Financial Services Group where he was the Director of Financial Planning, Analysis and Reporting. He first joined A.I.M. Mutual in 2012. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Mr. MacDonald obtained an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He also holds a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter designation.
