Marshfield-based Cook & Company Insurance Services, Inc. has announced the appointment of Sue Shillue as President. On January 1st, Ms. Shillue took over the reins of the company from Founder Peter A. Cook.

I have been fortunate over the years to be able to surround myself with some outstanding talent, and Sue definitely fits that bill. Her hands-on industry experience and leadership qualities will continue to serve our clients well. We couldn’t have picked a better successor.”
Mr. Cook, who founded Cook & Company Insurance Services, Inc. (formerly Cook & Co.) in 1979, has joined the Executive Team of GW Global as its Managing Direct of Business Development. Cook & Company Insurance Inc. was acquired by GW Global in 2014.
Ms. Shillue first joined Cook & Co. in 1987 as an Account Executive. Before assuming the Presidency, she was the company’s President of the Health Plan Management Group, where she oversaw he firm’s health insurance consulting services for Massachusetts municipalities. She served as Vice President of this group from 2005 until 2012. Before her long career with Cook & Company, Ms. Shillue was an Account Executive with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts.
A graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Ms. Shillue is a Licensed Insurance Advisor in Massachusetts. In addition to being a featured at numerous municipal association meetings, her community involvement also includes being a former member of the executive board of Scituate High Opportunities and Resources for Education.
