Trusted Choice Consumer Portal Tops 100,000 Monthly Visitors

April 21, 2014 by AC Editor

March marked the eighth consecutive month of traffic growth for the website

The new Trusted Choice website www.trustedchoice.com, which helps consumers buy insurance through independent insurance agents, topped 100,000 monthly visitors in March 2014. Project CAP, which manages the website on behalf of the Independent Agency System and with the help of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America, says that the March numbers for the refreshed site are the best ever and marks the eighth consecutive month of record website traffic.

TrustedChoice.com is the national platform for independent agents who want to be visible online in their local communities. The site is attracting some of the 80 percent of insurance consumers who start their insurance shopping on the web,” said Charles “Chip” Bacciocco, CEO of Project CAP. “Consumers are increasingly drawn to the site by its rich blend of: Insurance information, the popular ‘find-an-agent’ tool to search for and connect with an independent insurance professional, and the capability to research personal lines insurance pricing information.

Mass. Agents lead the nation in subscriptions to the Trusted Choice website

According to Project CAP more than 1,500 agencies are now participating in the TrustedChoice.com website. Of those 1500 says the MAIA in its most recent newsletter, approximately 152 different independent agencies have subscribed to the Project CAP/trusted choice website, making Mass. agents the leading state in the nation with subscriptions to the Project CAP/trusted choice website. The MAIA newsletter currently has a complete list of those agents who have subscribe to the site, broken down by each town in the Commonwealth which can be accessed here.

Any member of the Big “I” is permitted to participate in the Trusted Choice website with a basic listing on the site. This includes an agency’s name, location, and contact information which is presented to consumers who click on the “find an agent” function on the site. Project CAP, however, does offer a richer agency profile, higher search results ranking and better lead-capture capabilities for those agencies that pay an additional subscription fee.

How popular is the Trusted Choice website in Massachusetts?

According to analytics, website traffic for the trustedchoice.com in Massachusetts for March 2014 reached 3,366 visits. This number reflects an increase in traffic for the site from January and February of 2014, which saw visits at 2,342 and 2,979 respectively.

The March traffic numbers also reflect a 12.99% change over last year’s figures in which only 557 visits were recorded to the trustedchoice.com website in Massachusetts as of March 2013.

The MAIA says that it expects the website traffic to continue to increase in the coming months, when the comparative rating portal launches later this year. As of now, the Concord Group, Hanover, MAPFRE/Commerce, Norfolk & Dedham, NGM Insurance, Plymouth Rock Preferred, Safeco, Safety Insurance and Vermont Mutual have already agreed to participate in the portal.

How does the trustedchoice.com website compare to the major direct writers?

While it is impossible to know the website traffic for the major direct writers, an informal comparison can be done using the website Alexa.com. For those unfamilar with this site, Alexa.com is an Amazon.com subsidiary that provides “… analytical insights to benchmark, compare and optimize businesses on the web.”

According to its rankings, here is how the trustedchoice.com currently ranks along with GEICO, Progressive, Liberty Mutual and Allstate. Note that the numbers with the US flag indicates the ranking for websites in the United States, while the globe indicates a website’s world ranking.
