The two family-owned independent insurance agencies are both based in Peabody
Duffy Insurance has acquired the assets of the Connolly Insurance Agency of Peabody. The deal which became effective January 1st, 2015, will see the Connolly Insurance Agency merge into the Peabody offices of Duffy Insurance.

Together we will be able to offer our customers a wider range of options without compromising the personal relationships that are built and maintained in a local, family insurance agency.
Begun by Bill Connolly, a former MetLife Insurance representative, the Connolly Insurance Agency has been a family-run entity since 1952. Mr. Connolly, who remained actively involved in the daily operation of the agency, died in 2009. Carrying on after his death, the agency has been run by his wife Ellie, the agency’s office manager for over 28 years, and his daughter Meaghan, who joined the family business in 2006 after a stint with the Concord Group.
Duffy Insurance has three locations on the North Shore
A family run independent insurance agency, Duffy Insurance was founded by Paul Duffy in 1996 in Lynn. Duffy, aided by his brother Steve, grew the agency from two to eight employees within their first five years of business. In 2002, the agency double its size and added another location with the acquisition the Babson-Elwell and Davis Agency in Gloucester, In 2006, Duffy’s son Marc joined the family business and the agency opened its third location in Peabody, after purchasing a building there.
