FBInsure Acquires The Henry L. Newbury Insurance Agency

February 22, 2015 by AC Editor

Taunton-based FB Insure announced this month that it has acquired the acquired Henry L. Newbury Insurance Agency. The agency, more familiarly known as the Newbury Insurance Agency, is an independent insurance agency located off Route 152 in North Attleboro. According to the terms of the merger, both the President of Newbury Insurance Agency, Jim Newbury, and his brother John, who plan to retire, will continue on at the agency during its transition over to the FBinsure brand in order to ensure a smooth transition for the agency 1,400 clients.

“Providing top-notch personal service and guidance to our valued clients has driven our success in North Attleboro. Finding those same qualities in the team at FBinsure, along with increased technological capabilities and an expanding list of insurance companies, assured my brother and I that this move would bring an immense amount of value to our clients,” said Jim Newbury.

In addition to Newbury and his brother, other long time employees of Newbury Insurance Agency will joining the FBinsure team in the same roles they had with Newbury. Overall, FBinsure says that changes to the Newbury Insurance Agency’s operations will be minor, and will mainly focus on updating the agency’s technology and access to new companies.

In commenting on the acquisition, Russ Martorana, President of FBinsure said, “We are thrilled Jim and John Newbury have chosen to join FBinsure as their retirement partners. This decision further strengthens both our agencies and we expect clients will feel the lasting positive impact in their future experiences here.”

This is the second acquisition for FBinsure in the last six months

The acquisition of the Newbury Insurance Agency is the second acquisition in six months for the FBinsure. In December of 2014, the Taunton-based agency acquired the Gramlich Insurance Agency of New Bedford. With the addition of these two agencies, FBinsure now boasts a total of eight agency locations in Bristol and Plymouth Counties including its headquarters in Taunton, Attleboro, Middleboro, Dighton, Rehoboth, East Freetown, New Bedford and now North Attleboro. The independent insurance agency, which is in partnership with Bristol County Savings Bank, employees over 85 people and insures over 20,000 personal and commercial clients.
