Mass. Insurance Agency Launches Its Own Proprietary Comparison Shopping Platform

August 25, 2015 by AC Editor

The independent agency has embraced a bevy of hi-tech solutions to help it compete with direct writers

Agency Checklists, MA Insurance News, Mass. Insurance NewsIndependent online agency MassDrive has announced the launch of its new instant quoting and comparison shopping platform to offer accurate real-time quotes from multiple insurance carriers.

“We are proud to continue to improve the auto and home insurance buying experience for consumers in Massachusetts with the launch of comparison shopping on MassDrive.com,” said Bill Suneson, co-founder and CEO of MassDrive Insurance Group. “We have always made it a priority to develop the latest technology to best meet our customers’ needs, and we are thrilled with the overwhelmingly positive feedback we have received following this launch.”

The platform which began pilot testing in June is now officially live on the site. In addition to offering real-time quoting capabilities, the tool also offers a broad range of coverages and prices. MassDrive notes that its proprietary platform complies with Massachusetts’ unique underwriting guidelines and relies on targeted questions and information such as an insured’s driving record and car model. While MassDrive hopes to capture customers with this new online comparison tool, the agency also employs licensed insurance professionals to offer additional live customer support including ensuring a quote is accurate and that all eligible discounts have been applied.

Using technology to level the playing field

As one of the most visible online agencies in Massachusetts, the company has embraced technology as a way in which to compete and grow its book of business in the age of Managed Competition. Instead of being afraid of competition from direct writers, the company has used technology to try and level the playing field. In addition to its new quoting and comparison platform, the agency also has developed SnapQuote™ mobile quoting tool, its Renewal Readiness program, live chat and texting tools as well as extended hours phone-access to its licensed insurance professional to provide an innovative and customer-centric experience for its insureds.

New tool available for MassDrive strategic partners

While MassDrive created this new platform to improve its own agency experience, the company is also making this tool available for others through the agency’s B2B offering with its strategic partners. These partners include affinity groups, online insurance agents and financial institutions.
