RMV Issues New Updated Spanish Language Driver’s Manual

The New “Manual Del Conductor” is now available online and in print

Agency Checklists, MA Insurance News, Mass. Insurance NewsThe Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles has updated and published a new versions of its Spanish language Driver’s Manual. The new updated manual is now available online. Print copies are also available at approximately 30 of the RMV’s branch locations around the Commonwealth. A print copy of the manual costs $5.00.

“We recognize the significant Spanish speaking population in the Commonwealth and the Registry is pleased to offer an updated translation of the manual,” said Registrar Erin C. Deveney. “We are committed to equipping customers with new motor vehicle law and rule information to help increase safety for all roadway users.”

Includes all you need to know to drive in Massachusetts

The RMV produces the Driver’s Manual in order to prepare new drivers with all of the rules and regulations of the road. As for the new updated manual, it now includes all the latest information including:

  • obtaining and keeping a license,
  • special driving conditions,
  • driving safety,
  • the rules of the road, and
  • motor vehicle ownership and motor vehicle operation.

While the Driver’s Manual is currently only available in Spanish or English versions, the RMV does offer the possibility to obtain a license or permit in a variety of languages. Currently the Registry provides testing in 27 different languages. For more information about testing or downloading a manual, continue on to the MassRMV.com for more information.

For those Mass. agents who would like to inform their Spanish speaking insureds about the new manual, the following is the official RMV announcement of the new updated manual in Spanish.

BOSTON –8 de abril, 2016—La División del Registro de Vehículos Motorizados (RMV, por sus siglas en inglés) de MassDOT anunció hoy que tendrán disponible la versión actualizada y en español del Manual Del Conductor en sus sucursales alrededor del estado y en su página de internet, MassRMV.com.

“Reconocemos la significante población de habla hispana que hay en el estado y el Registro tiene el placer de ofrecer una traducción actualizada del manual”, dijo la Directora Erin C. Deveney. “Estamos comprometidos a proveer a los consumidores información acerca de leyes y reglamentos nuevos, lo cual asistirá en el aumento de seguridad para todos los usuarios de carreteras.”

El manual incluye información sobre cómo obtener y mantener una licencia, condiciones especiales al conducir, seguridad al conducir, las reglas de la carretera, el ser dueño de un vehículo y manejar el mismo.

El RMV estará distribuyendo el manual actualizado y en español a todas las 30 sucursales, basado en demanda popular y para servir mejor a los consumidores de habla hispana.
La versión impresa del Manual Del Conductor está disponible por $5.00 y se puede comprar en cualquier sucursal del RMV. Los consumidores pueden ahorrarse el viaje a una sucursal y bajar electrónicamente y gratuitamente el manual, en inglés o español, en la página de internet www.MassRMV.com.

El RMV produce el Manual Del Conductor para preparar mejor a los conductores nuevos en cuanto a reglas importantes e información sobre conducir mientras se preparan para obtener un permiso de aprendiz o licencia en Massachusetts. El Manual Del Conductor también sirve como una herramienta valiosa para actualizar a conductores con experiencia en cuanto a cambios importantes a las leyes y reglamentos de la carretera.
