Eastern Insurance Group Acquires The Southeastern Insurance Agency, Inc.

January 30, 2018 by AC Editor

This marks the 41st agency acquisition for Eastern Insurance

On January 1, 2018, Eastern Insurance Group officially welcomed the Southeastern Insurance Agency into its ranks. True to its name, the Southeastern Insurance Agency, Inc. has been a full-service independent insurance agency in Massachusetts for four decades, with two locations in Southeastern Massachusetts: one in North Dartmouth and the other in Hyannis. Until its acquisition, this family-owned and operated agency was helmed by Brad Lowe, who Chairman, and Lora Lowe FitzGerald, President.

Southeastern Insurance is an agency that epitomizes exceptional customer service, unquestionable integrity and local market expertise,” said Hope A. Aldrich, President and CEO of Eastern Insurance, in commenting on Eastern Insurance’s latest acquisition. “We are very excited to be joining forces with Lora, Brad and their team at Southeastern, and we expect them to play a pivotal role in spearheading our expansion in southeastern Massachusetts.”

According to the terms of the transaction, Eastern Insurance has acquired all of the assets of Southeastern Insurance Agency and will rebrand the agency’s two locations over the next six to twelve months. In addition to Mr. Lowe and Ms. Lowe FitzGerald, all of Southeastern’s former staff will continue on after the acquisition as Eastern employees.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Eastern,” said Mr. Lowe and Ms.Lowe FitzGerald, in the official announcement. “This combination will allow us to bring the resources of a large firm to our clients without sacrificing the individual attention that they have come to expect from Southeastern for the past 40 years.” They added, “We wanted a partner that shares the same level of commitment to its clients, employees and community as we do. It’s clear that we have found that in Eastern.”

Both Mr. Lowe and Ms. Lowe FitzGerald will assume leadership positions in their new roles at Eastern, as they seek to expand Eastern’s geographic footprint in the Dartmouth, New Bedford, Fall River and Cape Cod areas.
