Founded in 1928, the Concord Group operates throughout New England
The Concord Group Insurance Companies has announced the appointment of Daniel L. McCabe as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of the Concord, NH based company. Mr. McCabe, who joined the Concord Group in early 2017, most recently served as the insurer’s Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
A well known insurance professional in New England, he brings a wide range of experience from his twenty-plus year career in the Insurance Industry including past senior leadership positions in Underwriting, Product Development, Marketing and Operations at Chubb, Travelers, The Hanover, MAPFRE (formerly Commerce Insurance) and Lexington Insurance.[pullquote]I believe strongly in the value and importance of the Independent Insurance Agent to both consumers and local communities- Daniel L. The promotion of Mr. McCabe signals the Board of Directors’ confidence that Mr. McCabe will successfully manage the company’s affiliation with Auto-Owners Insurance, and effectively lead organizational expansion efforts throughout New England in both the personal lines and small to mid-sized commercial lines disciplines.

A native of the New Hampshire Lakes Region, Mr. McCabe attended Proctor Academy preparatory school and graduated from Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA with his Bachelor of Arts degree before entering the Insurance Industry.
Concord General Mutual, an A (Excellent) A.M. Best rated carrier, began in 1928, and operates in the New England area, including Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont. Concord Group is recognized as a leading insurance provider through the Independent Agency System in these states. In 2016, the Concord-based carrier announced its affiliation with the Auto-Owners Insurance Group, which was later completed at the end of 2017.
