Two local, independent insurance agencies have united. The Jeff Carbone Insurance Agency, Inc., an independent insurance agency based in Melrose has acquired Hughes insurance, also of Melrose.

Founded by Dan Hughes in 2014, Hughes Insurance has been providing primarily personal lines insurance to Melrose and the surrounding communities for the past seven years. According to the terms of the transaction which closed on November 11, 2020, Mr. Hughes will continue to consult with his customers regarding their insurance needs during his agency’s transition.
Founded in Melrose over three decades ago by Jeff Carbone, the Jeff Carbone Insurance Agency, Inc. has been providing personal and commercial lines insurance since 1986. Michael Ryan of Insurance Agency Consulting Services represented Hughes Insurance in this acquisition. Owen Gallagher handled the closing of the sale.
