Kaplansky Insurance Celebrates 50 Years of Service and Excellence

June 21, 2024 by AC Editor

Kaplansky Insurance, a leading independent insurance brokerage, proudly celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Founded in 1974 by Ely Kaplansky, CIC, CPIA, LIA, the agency has grown from a single office in Brookline to a network of 16 offices throughout Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. Today, Kaplansky Insurance serves 45,000 clients, supported by nearly 100 dedicated employees and partnerships with more than 200 top insurance agencies and brokers.

Ely Kaplansky, President and CEO, began his insurance career at the age of 16 as a “registry runner.” With determination and his limited savings, he started Kaplansky Insurance at just 22. Under his leadership, the agency has become one of the largest and fastest-growing independent insurance agencies in the region.

A significant factor in Kaplansky Insurance’s impressive growth is its strategic acquisitions. Over the years, the agency has completed 45 acquisitions. This steady expansion has allowed Kaplansky Insurance to extend its footprint and continue its commitment to providing exceptional service and comprehensive insurance solutions.

The agency’s headquarters are now located in Needham, Massachusetts, but the original location at 114 Harvard St, Brookline, remains open and operational, symbolizing the company’s deep-rooted history and ongoing commitment to its clients.

“We are incredibly proud to reach this 50-year milestone,” said Ely Kaplansky. “Our success is a testament to our dedicated team, loyal clients, and strong partnerships. We look forward to continuing our tradition of excellence and service for many more years to come.”
