Ormsby Insurance Agency Renews Prestigious MAIA Five StarAgency Designation

October 10, 2025 by AC Editor

West Springfield Agency First Achieved Five Start Distinction in 2009

Ormsby Insurance Agency, Inc., of West Springfield, has successfully renewed its Five Star Agency Designation with the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents (MAIA). The agency first achieved Five Star status in 2009, and this renewal confirms its ongoing commitment to meeting and exceeding the highest standards in the insurance industry.

“The team at Ormsby Insurance Agency works incredibly hard to deliver excellence to our customers, and to each other, as we work together to educate and advise clients in the best way to protect their personal and business assets,” said John Weiss, President. “Recently, we have undergone a significant system change in the agency, as well as the retirement of a trusted and valued employee, Lisa Merritt. Everyone on the team has remained positive, focused on customer service, and put forth their best efforts as we navigated the changes. I’m very proud of them and of successfully renewing our Five Star Agency Designation.”

“Renewing the Five Star Agency Designation is no small achievement—it reflects an agency’s dedication to excellence, professionalism, and continuous improvement,” said Heather Kramer, COO at MAIA. “We are proud to recognize Ormsby Insurance Agency once again for their outstanding work and leadership in our industry. This is a team of intelligent and experienced insurance professionals who demonstrate their commitment to their customers and community on a daily basis.”

Highlights from the Review Team

  • Customer Focus: A culture centered on providing responsive and personalized service to clients with a very knowledgeable and dedicated staff.
  • Agency Management: Strong leadership focused on operational quality and efficiency that ensure long-term stability and growth.
  • Human Resource Development: Ongoing staff training and professional development to maintain a knowledgeable, client-focused team.
  • Product Knowledge & Technical Expertise: Broad expertise in personal and commercial lines, ensuring clients receive tailored insurance solutions.
  • Community Commitment: Active engagement and support of local organizations, demonstrating the agency’s investment in the communities it serves.

Highest Distinction an Agency Can Receive by the MAIA

The Five Star Agency Distinction program is awarded to only a select group of independent insurance agencies across Massachusetts, who have undergone a rigorous review process every three years and is the most prestigious recognition MAIA awards to independent agencies. Agencies that earn this honor must undergo a rigorous review process every three years, demonstrating excellence in customer service, management, human resources, product and processes, and community involvement.
