Rhode Island’s Starkweather & Shepley Agency Expands its presence in Connecticut

Starkweather & Shepley Welcomes DiMatteo Insurance Brokers

Starkweather & Shepley Insurance Brokerage Inc. (S&S) is pleased to announce that, effective January 1, 2026, DiMatteo Insurance Brokers, LLC has joined Starkweather & Shepley.

“This addition reflects our continued commitment to strategic growth and to partnering with individuals and organizations that share our values and client-focused approach,” said Andrew J. Fotopulos, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Starkweather & Shepley. “Angelo and Trina have built a highly respected agency, and we are excited to welcome them and their clients to Starkweather & Shepley.”

Founded in 2010, DiMatteo Insurance Brokers is an independent insurance agency based in East Hartford, Connecticut. The firm is led by founder Angelo DiMatteo, who will join Starkweather & Shepley along with Trina Nicholson, Vice President, who has been with the agency since 2013.

The DiMatteo Insurance team will operate from Starkweather & Shepley’s Bristol, Connecticut office. The agency brings a strong Commercial Lines portfolio with a track record in the Construction and Hospitality industries, as well as offerings in Employee Benefits and Personal Lines Insurance.

Starkweather & Shepley looks forward to the experience, relationships, and capabilities that DiMatteo Insurance Brokers brings to the organization as the firm continues to expand its presence and service offerings throughout Connecticut and beyond.
