Ronald A. Lucas, 90, of Auburn, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2026. He was predeceased by his loving wife Ann Marie in 2023.
“Ray” was a loving father to Mark (Ann), Mary Beth Connors (Kevin), Patricia Johnson (Donald), Elizabeth Kallfelz (James), and Robert (Pamela); devoted Pop to Patrick, Kelsey, Griffin, Callahan, Brennan, Mack, Delaney, Regan, Daniel, Patrick, Jordan, Camden, Isabella, Robert and Abigail; Great Grandfather to Jaxon, Brynn, Callum, Layla, Jack, Coleman, Wells, Paige, Claire, Pennelope and another on the way. Ray was born in Worcester, son of the late Albert and Mary Lucas, and moved to Pakachoag Hill in Auburn in 1943. He graduated from Auburn High in 1953 and from UMass Amherst in 1957. He honorably served his country in the United States Army after college. He worked for many years as an executive in the Insurance industry and in 1982 started his own insurance agency, Lucas and Boyd, before retiring in 2004. Ray was an avid New England sports fan who enjoyed gardening and trips to Lake Winnipesaukee and Florida. His favorite thing to do was to spend time with his family, cherishing his role of “Pop” to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ray was smart, generous, and accepting of all. He was immensely proud of the clan of Lucas’ that he and Ann Marie watched grow over the years and he will be dearly missed by all.
