Former Owner and Operator of the Doran and Horrigan Insurance Agency

Joe Doran, age 95, passed away peacefully on January 29th.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Joe grew up in the South End and was a graduate of Boston College High School. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
Following his military service, Joe built a long and successful career in the insurance field, owning and operating Doran and Horrigan Insurance Agency for more than 40 years. He was also involved in real estate and tax preparation, and was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his clients. Joe was very active in civic life and community affairs in the city of Quincy.
Joe was married for 72 years to his beloved wife, Helen Doran, who predeceased him. He was a father to J. Joseph Doran Jr., Ann Sterling, Barbara Murphy, Paul Doran, Lynne Bucklen, and Kristine Lang, and a grandfather to fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Joe enjoyed traveling to Prince Edward Island, a place that brought him peace and happiness.
All services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Perkins Library for the Blind in his memory.
