David H. Knight, of West Barnstable, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of entrepreneurial spirit, intellectual curiosity, and deep appreciation for the arts. He was 90 years old.

Born on April 9, 1936, in Melrose, Massachusetts, Dave graduated from Phillips Academy Andover, Class of 1954, and went on to earn his degree from Harvard University in Cambridge, Class of 1958.
Dave built a diverse and successful career as a business owner. He owned and operated Knight Insurance Agency, later Knight Tuition Payment Plans in Boston, helping families navigate the financial challenges of education. His entrepreneurial ventures extended beyond Massachusetts and included ownership of The Pollard Hotel in Red Lodge, Montana, as well as Friendly Type in Newington, New Hampshire.
A longtime supporter of institutions that enriched and cared for the lives of others; Dave was an active and dedicated board member of the Handel and Haydn Society and University Hospital, now part of Boston Medical Center.
Dave lived for many years and raised his family in Sherborn, Massachusetts, later residing in Boston, Newington NH and West Barnstable. He cherished time spent in Wellfleet and Chatham, as well as Tortola in the British Virgin Islands.
He was predeceased by his beloved spouse of over 50 years. He is survived by his loving partner, his four children, nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, all of whom were an enduring source of pride and joy in his life.
