Liberty Mutual Launches Auto Insurance Quoting App in ChatGPT

June 1, 2026 by AC Editor

Liberty Mutual launches a ChatGPT app to provide personalized auto insurance quotes.
The Boston-based insurer Liberty Mutual introduced a ChatGPT app enabling users to receive personalized auto insurance quotes in seven states.

Third Boston-based insurance entity to launch an app on Chat GPT this Spring

Liberty Mutual, the country’s seventh-largest Property & Casualty insurer announced that is has launched a conversational AI auto insurance quoting application within ChatGPT, allowing users to obtain a personalized auto insurance quote through a chat-based interaction rather than a traditional online application.

The Boston-based insurer announced that, as of May 28, the application is now available to ChatGPT users seeking auto insurance quotes in seven states: Arizona, Kentucky, Ohio, Missouri, New Mexico, Utah, and Wisconsin. Liberty Mutual said it plans to expand the quoting capability to more than 40 states by the end of 2026.

The launch makes Liberty Mutual the third Boston-based insurance entity to introduce a ChatGPT application this year, following earlier launches by Insurify and Simply Business.

Chat-Based Quoting Process

According to Liberty Mutual, ChatGPT users who connect to the insurer’s application can receive an auto insurance quote by answering a short series of questions. After receiving a quote, users are directed to LibertyMutual.com to finalize coverage selections and bind a policy.

The insurer said the application differs from other aggregator-based platforms on ChatGPT that provide estimated price ranges and redirect users to multiple insurance websites. Instead, Liberty Mutual said the application uses its own rating engine to generate an accurate, personalized quote based on the user’s information.

Expanding Distribution Channels

“We are excited to extend access to our products and provide additional platforms for customers to find great coverage at a great price. Consumers have more choice than ever in how they choose to shop, including emerging channels like conversational AI and large language model (LLM) platforms,” said Tyler Asher, Liberty Mutual Chief Distribution and Marketing Officer, US Retail Markets.

“As this shopping process continues to evolve, it’s beneficial to customers that we meet them wherever they are, leveraging the newest technology to simplify the buying experience and deliver personalized coverage faster and more intuitively than ever before,” Asher added.

Liberty Mutual

A Fortune 100 company with more than 40,000 employees in 27 countries and economies, Liberty Mutual is the ninth-largest global property and casualty insurer and generates more than $50 billion in annual consolidated revenue.

The insurer operates through three business units: U.S. Retail Markets, Global Risk Solutions, and Liberty Mutual Investments.
