Lemonade Launches Renters Insurance in Vermont With Rates Starting at $5 Per Month

July 7, 2026 by AC Editor

Lemonade has launched its app-based renters insurance platform in Vermont, allowing renters to obtain quotes, purchase policies and file claims digitally

App-Based Coverage Now Available to Vermont Renters

New York-based insurtech Lemonade announced on July 7 that its renters insurance product is now available in Vermont, expanding the company’s app-based insurance platform for renters across the state.

“Renters in Vermont deserve the same easy insurance experience as everyone else,” said Dan Timsit, Head of Renters Insurance at Lemonade. “We built Lemonade to cut through the complexity that makes traditional insurance painful. We offer simple quotes, instant claims, and rates that don’t break the bank. Now we can deliver that to Vermont too.”

Via the Lemonade App, Vermont renters can obtain quotes, purchase policies, update existing policies, and file claims. Approximately 40% of renters’ insurance claims are handled instantly, according to Lemonade, allowing eligible policyholders to receive assistance more quickly after a covered loss.

Coverage Starts at $5 Per Month

The company said its renters’ insurance premiums start at $5 per month, making it “one of the more affordable renters insurance options available.” Lemonade also stated that, based on company and industry data, its renters’ insurance rates are approximately 30% lower than the national average.

Customers may also qualify for additional savings by bundling policies, installing qualifying home safety devices, or selecting annual billing.

Company Serves More Than 3 Million Active Customers

Lemonade said it currently serves more than 3 million active customers across the country. In addition to serving Vermont, Lemonade offers renters insurance in another New England state: Maine.
