September 24, 2019 by Agency Checklists

The insurer has already begun to appoint new agent partners in the state

The Hanover has entered the Personal Lines marketplace in Vermont. The Worcester-based insurer announced this week that it has begun offering its personal lines insurance products to select independent agents through the state.

“We are excited to partner with The Hanover to help our customers protect their most valuable assets with a wide range of insurance solutions and expertise,” said Carla Boardman Smalling, vice president and client advisor at Hickok & Boardman Insurance Group, a leading independent insurance agency in Vermont.

Building off its successful commercial lines business in the state, The Hanover will look to expand its personal lines market share by offering a full suit of insurance products through select independent agent partners. As part of its offerings, The Hanover says its new suite of personal lines products will be available to its new Vermont agent partners. This includes its new Platinum Experience as well as Prestige products. As The Hanover explained to Agency Checklists this summer when it debuted this new line of products in Massachusetts, these new Personal Lines offerings seek to deliver a higher level of service for preferred accounts through versatility and customization.

In addition to its products, Hanover agents in Vermont will also be able to take advantage of the company’s recently revamped TAP Sales platform.

The Hanover’s overall plan to expands its geographic footprint throughout New England

The company sees its entrance into Vermont as a natural progression, building off its existing commercial lines business within the state. It is also fits in with the company’s overall goal of growing its presence through all of the New England region.

“Vermont is a key market for us as we round out our New England personal lines footprint,” said Daniel C. Halsey, president of personal lines at The Hanover. “We are thrilled to enter the state, where we have established a strong commercial lines business, partnering with some of the best agents. With our competitive, comprehensive set of products and services, we will serve the Vermont market broadly with insurance packages for consumers at all stages of life.”
