The 2015 Winners of the Mass. RMV’s Low Number Plate Lottery

The lottery drawing was held live on WBZ 1030 AM’s “Nightside with Dan Rea” 

The RMV has published the winners of the 2015 Low Number Plate Lottery. This year over 7,000 applicants vied for one of the low number plates available this year. In a return to RMV tradition, this year’s numbers were called out by Registrar Deveney on the WBZ 1030AM radio program “Nightside with Dan Rea.”

Why people like to have a low number plate….

The Registry of Motor Vehicles is the oldest motor vehicle administrative agency in the United States and issued its first license plate in 1903. Many of the top ten single digit plates given out are still in the hands of the same families and passed on down through the generations.

Winners have until December 31st to claim their plate or else it will be automatically forfeited to the list of the 25 alternate winners also chosen during the drawing. The Registry will be notifying this year’s winners by mail as well.
