Erin Deveney Officially Appointed RMV Registrar

January 14, 2016 by AC Editor

Has been serving as the Acting Registrar since March 2015

On December 23, 2015, Governor Charlie Baker announced the permanent appointment of Erin Deveney as the Registrar of Motor Vehicles. Ms. Deveney had been serving a one year appointment as Interim Registrar of Motor Vehicles since March 16, 2015. In making the announcement, both Governor Baker highlighted Ms. Deveney’s leadership of the RMV thus far.

“Restoring a customer-service centered approach at the Registry of Motor Vehicles has brought about substantial progress toward decreasing wait times and giving people back precious hours of their working day,” said Governor Charlie Baker. “With more work still to be done, I am proud to officially announce Erin’s permanent appointment as Registrar and consider her to be a true leader who has proven her commitment and ability to lead and move the Registry in the right direction.”

MassDOT Secretary Pollack also had only encouraging words to say about Ms. Deveney’s work at the RMV, thus far.“Under the leadership of Erin Deveney, the Registry has made great progress in decreasing customer wait times, and improving outreach to customers whether through promoting MassRMV.com or our AAA locations,” said MassDOT Secretary and CEO Stephanie Pollack.  “I am thrilled that Erin will serve permanently as the Registrar and continue the great work that has started earlier of the year.”

Ms. Deveney moves over to the RMV from the Department of Children and Families where she had served as Interim Commissioner since April 2014.

A graduate of the College of the Holy Cross, Ms. Deveney earned her Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School in 1997.
