A Mass.-Based Online Insurance Portal, SmallBusinessQuote.com, Launches

September 20, 2016 by AC Editor

The Internet Insurance Group (“IIG”) has announced the launch of its new flagship website SmallBusinessQuote.com.

A site focusing exclusively on Small Business insurance

Based in Waltham, the IIG is a national insurance agency run by a group of seasoned insurance executives, aimed at selling commercial insurance to small businesses.

IIG’s Co-founder and CEO Lou Geremia says the company’s latest site launch reflects the growing on-line demand for small business products.

“Small businesses are increasingly turning to online platforms to manage a number of their key administrative functions such as payroll, benefits, credit and accounting, so it is only natural that they will seek similar outlets for insurance”, Geremia said.

Seven commercial carriers’ products available through SmallBusinessQuote.com

According to Mr. Geremia the company has been operating in “stealth mode” during the past year in order to create and round out its array of product offers from A+ Rated national carriers. Currently, the company website lists the following carriers that it is working with:

  • Liberty Mutual
  • The Hanover
  • CNA
  • The Hartford
  • Progressive
  • Berkshire Hathaway Guard
  • Travelers

Prior to launching SmallBusinessQuote.com, Mr. Germia has spent the last 15 years of his career overseeing some of the largest online P&C agencies and insurance lead generation companies in the industry.

How the site works

Currently, IIG offers small businesses online access by licensed agents via its website. Once it connects with a small business, the prospective customer is guided through the purchase process by the firm’s licensed agents, headquartered in Waltham, who provide quotes from the site’s present carriers.

Licenses in 48 of the 50 states

Presently Smallbusinessquote.com is operated by IIG, which hold agency licenses directly in 46 of the 50 states. In New York and California, the company operates as Internet Insurance Agency Group, LLC and Internet Sales and Marketing Insurance Agency, LLC, respectively. The company has no presence in either Arkansas or Hawaii.

Focus on small Main Street businesses

As Co-Founder Newton Johnson, also President of Eastern States Insurance Agency for the last 35 years, added: “IIG agents work solely with micro businesses, so we know how to assess the best coverage options at the most competitive prices. Our customers can educate themselves on our website and purchase a policy in a matter of minutes”.

In addition to providing commercial insurance to small businesses, the site will also provide guidance and advice to small businesses through the original articles that are also published on the site. Over time, the company also says it has plans to expand its offerings and to diversify its based by using various web domains with specifically targeted information.
