Kaplansky Insurance Acquires Massachusetts’ Kelleher & Mackey Agency

June 19, 2018 by AC Editor

Kelleher & Mackey Insurance has been an independent agency in Quincy since 1988

Kaplansky Insurance has acquired the Kelleher & Mackey Insurance Agency of Quincy. Founded in 1988 by Bob Mackey, the independent insurance agency has been a stalwart in the City of Presidents for thirty years.

The acquisition of Kelleher & Mackey is integral to the future growth of Kaplansky. This acquisition presents a compelling opportunity to continue our rapid expansion throughout Massachusetts. Our commitment to our communities, clients and to our company partners will remain the foundation for all we do” said Ely Kaplansky, President and CEO of Kaplansky Insurance.

According to the terms of the transaction, upon the completion of the acquisition, Kelleher & Mackey will merge into Kaplansky Insurance’s new Weymouth office location.

The second acquisition of 2018 and the 29th overall

The addition of the K&M marks Kaplansky Insurance’s 29th overall agency acquisition in Massachusetts and its second one for 2018. As our readers will remember, earlier this year, it was announced that the Needham-based agency had purchased the Anthony & Malcolm Insurance Agency.

More about Kaplansky Insurance

Founded in 1974, Kaplansky Insurance has grown from one agency into one of the largest and most successful independent insurance agencies not only in Massachusetts but in the Northeast. For over a decade, Kaplansky Insurance has retained its status as part of an elite group of independent insurance agencies recognized for their commitment to delivering the highest level of customer satisfaction, by earning the “Five Star” award of distinction. Since 2006, Kaplansky Insurance has been recognized by IIABA as one of The “Best Practices”  Agencies for the agency’s efforts to continue to enhance value and success within the industry.
