CNA’s Agent Portal Now Offers Quick Quotes for Workers’ Compensation
Independent agents are incredibly busy servicing their clients, which is why CNA continues to enhance our quick quote capabilities on CNA Central,” said Wes Sprinkle, Senior Vice President, Small Business, CNA. “We identified a simple way to generate a quick quote for this additional line of business without requiring a lot of additional information from the agent — part of our ongoing commitment to making our processes faster and easier for customers.”
The newley streamlined portal now offers agents a quick way to quote Workers’ Compensation insurance for their small business clients when quoting a CNA Connect policy on the insurer’s quoting and agent portal CNA Central. In addition, the newly enhanced portal now offers the ability to simultaneously quote multiple coverages — including the CNA Connect® business owners’ policy and Umbrella Liability — to provide clients with a comprehensive insurance solution. Agents can access these new features through “Get a Quote” or “Quote Advantage,” the one-page quoting application.
Ward’s Top 50 List Out

Ward has published its annual Top 50 Property-Casualty Insurers. Each year, the benchmarking report analyzes the financial performance of nearly 3,000 property-casualty insurance companies domiciled in the United States in order to identify the nation’s “top performers.”
“In selecting the Ward’s 50, we identified companies that pass financial stability requirements and measure their ability to grow while maintaining strong capital positions and underwriting results,” said Jeff Rieder, partner and head of Ward benchmarking at Aon.
The Ward’s 50 property-casualty group of insurance companies produced an 11.4 percent statutory return on average equity from 2013 to 2017, compared to 8.1 percent for the property-casualty industry overall. The Ward’s 50 life-health group of insurance companies produced a 17.2 percent statutory return on average equity from 2013 to 2017, compared to 9.5 percent for the life-health industry overall.
Unfortunately, while no Massachusetts-based insurers made the list, two of our neighbors to the north, Vermont Mutual, and Union Mutual of Vermont, did, as well as a neighbor to the south, Travelers.
