Another Massachusetts-based insurtech has launched, albeit not here in the Commonwealth. On August 17th, Waltham-based Oyster Insurance began offering Workers’ Comp. insurance in both New York and New Jersey.

While the company officially incorporated itself in July of 2017, the company has been in stealth mode since then. It wasn’t until July 18, 2018 that its Twitter Account activated with the following tweet:
and as for what the company aims to do it, the following is its mission statement from its webpage says that, “Oyster was born to fuse technology, empathy, and expertise to make insurance what it should be: simple and stress-free.”
