Global insurance brokerage, risk management and consulting services firm, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. announced this month that it has acquired Massachusetts-based John R. Sharry Inc., d/b/a Group Benefits Strategies.
Founded in 1993, Group Benefits Strategies has grown, over the past 25 years, to become one of the largest municipal health care consulting firms in Massachusetts. Group Benefits Strategies is currently owned and operated by President Katherine “Kate” Sharry.
Under Ms. Sharry’s direction, her team “…represents self-funded and fully insured municipalities and businesses throughout New England, and has developed group benefit plans for clients ranging in size from 100 to up to 10,000 employees.”
“Group Benefit Strategies’ niche-focused growth strategy and market expertise makes them an ideal addition to our benefits team,” said Tom Belmont. “I am excited to welcome Kate and her associates to Gallagher.”
According to the terms of the transaction, both Ms. Sharry and her associates will continue on with Arthur J. Gallagher while operating for their current location. The team will fall under the direction of Tom Belmont, head of Gallagher’s Northeast region employee benefits consulting and brokerage operations.
