August 6, 2019 by AC Editor

Hub New England adds one of the Commonwealth’s largest independent agencies to its ranks

Another acquisition this week has helped Hub New England further expand its geographic footprint into Western Mass. In an official announcement issued this week, the global insurance broker announced that it had acquired the assets of Insurance Center of New England, Inc. (ICNE).

“ICNE will expand our presence in western Massachusetts and build on Hub’s core strengths in property and casualty, employee benefits and personal lines solutions,” said Timm Marini, President of Personal Lines, Hub New England. “As a market-leading team, ICNE’s depth of experience and knowledge will be a great addition to Hub and will enhance our services to clients in New England.”

Hub has a great team of insurance brokers. We look forward to our partnership, which will be a tremendous benefit to our clients.”

ICNE boasts two locations throughout the Commonwealth

Based in Western, Massachusetts, ICNE is one of the largest independently-owned agencies operating within the Commonwealth. With two locations in both Agawam and Gardner, it provides full-service insurance solutions for both personal and commercial insurance as well as group employee benefits.

According to the terms of the transaction, upon the sale of ICNE to Hub, former ICNE President and CEO Bill Trudeau will join the Hub New England team, reporting to Mr. Marinin. Further terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
