After a little more than a year’s hiatus, Insurtech Boston is back, and better than ever. Once again the event will be held in the Seaport District at District Hall. For those Massachusetts insurance professionals unfamiliar with District Hall, it is one of the first buildings of its kind in the world. Built by a public-private partnership, District Hall’s aim is to provide dedicated civic space for the innovation community to gather and exchange ideas.

Insurtech Boston provides networking opportunities for all interested insurance market stakeholders

Hosted by Ask Kodiak Co-Founders, Michael Albert and Allan Egbert, Insurtech Boston was created in order to help those working in the insurance industry and insurtech to meet one another and to help startups, carrier executives, venture capitalists, agents, insurers and any other industry participants interested in the ongoing discussion about the future of the insurance industry.

“When we started our business, we were tremendously lucky to have an amazing group of local entrepreneurs and experts to bounce ideas off of,” said Michael Albert, co-founder of Ask Kodiak. “We’re not trying to build the world’s largest Insurtech event, our goal is simply to connect people to one another and help other startups get that same leg up that we had.”

Unlike other Insurtech meetups, conferences, and accelerators around the world, Insurtech Boston is an informal and intimate way for those working in the Greater Boston, Massachusetts, and New England insurance ecosystem to come together, connect, and exchange ideas.

“No pitch contests. No vendor booths. Start-ups get the stage, stand in front of their own logo, and tell their personal story in their own words,” said Allan Egbert, co-founder of Ask Kodiak. “And, while we focus on giving local Boston insurance folks a reason to get together, we look for interesting voices from other places in the world as well.”

A Lot of Local Flavor At This Year’s Event

This year, all of the Insurtech Start-up stories feature companies based in the Greater Boston Area. Moreover, all of the start-ups are focusing on leveraging technology to enhance the insurance industry rather than disrupt, one of the major themes resulting from the Sobering of Insurtech.
