DOI To Hold Hearing On CAR Proposed Performance Standards

The hearing will be held virtually on February 23, 2021

The Massachusetts Division of Insurance has scheduled a public hearing on proposed amendments to the CAR Performance Standards for the Handling and payment of Motor Vehicle Insurance Claims. The Division is identifying this hearing as Docket No. C2020-01 entitled, “Proposed Amendments to Performance Standards for the Handling and Payment of Private Passenger Motor Vehicle Insurance Claims by Assigned Risk Companies and to Performance Standards for the Handling and Payment of Commercial Motor Vehicle Insurance Claims by Servicing Carriers.”

According to the official notice, the hearing has been scheduled for Tuesday February 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. and will be held virtually using TEAMS. While the notice was issued on Friday the 19th with the cut-off to attend at 12:00PM Monday, February 22nd, those who are still interested in comment on the proceedings may do so by sending a statement via email to doidocket.mailbox@mass.gov no later than March 2, 2021. Remember that any notices and written statements sent with respect to this matter, must include the reference to DOI Docket No. C2020-01.
