Surround Insurance – Six Months In – In Massachusetts

April 1, 2021 by AC Editor

We’re excited to share an update on what we’re doing at Surround Insurance!

After DOI approval, we launched our starter pack product in Massachusetts earlier this year. Our starter pack is a quick and easy way to eliminate the P&C coverage gap young adults face between college and the first major purchase like a car, a home, or an engagement ring. And we give independent agents both the products and the digital tools to 1) maintain intergenerational client relationships as young adults spin off their parents’ policies and 2) to attract younger clients with high lifetime value for the agency.

We’ve learned that success for us and our agents requires real partnership. The agents who are doing the best with Surround’s product are interested in attracting younger customers but may not have the products from their current carriers that they need. And when we provide them with customized marketing collateral that helps make the sale, we both succeed.

In terms of product, one thing we’ve heard repeatedly is that the personal non-owned auto policy is difficult for agents to access in Massachusetts. Our multiline approach to non-owned auto makes the difference – we package non-owned auto with renters and $100K of professional liability for a side hustle. We’ve wrapped the product in a beautiful digital interface that takes less than 4 minutes to quote and bind.

For digital collateral, we create custom social media campaigns, collateral for audiences like graduate students or property managers, and website design based on what young professional clients want to see.

Here are examples of the types of social media we create and co-brand with our agencies for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn:

We’ve found independent agents in Massachusetts to be a welcoming bunch, and we’ve enjoyed working with you! And we look forward to expanding our product line and state availability later in 2021.
