Duffy Insurance Announces Another Agency Acquisition in Marblehead

October 18, 2021 by AC Editor

This marks the third agency acquisition of 2021 for Duffy Insurance

Duffy Insurance Agency has acquired another independent insurance agency in Massachusetts. The Peabody-based agency announced that it has acquired the assets of The Charles A. Slee Insurance Agency of Marblehead, MA.

Marc Duffy and Noreen Maggio

“We are excited to welcome The Charles A. Slee Insurance Agency employees and its customers into the Duffy Family of Insurance Agencies,” said Marc Duffy, President of Duffy Insurance.  As one of the oldest businesses in Marblehead, the Slee Agency has provided knowledgeable, friendly service to the North Shore Community since 1867.   Duffy added, “Under the Duffy ownership, Slee customers will continue to enjoy personal service with the added benefits of broader producer offerings and an individualized customer experience that appeals to both modern and traditional customers.”

The Slee Agency and its current staff, lead by Noreen Maggio, will continue to operate in its current location at 25 Atlantic Avenue in Marblehead, Massachusetts.

David Bartlett and his family have done an incredible job not only building this family insurance agency over many decades, but also making a positive impact on the Marblehead Community. I have so much admiration and respect for David and his entire family. As a Marblehead resident with a young family here in town, I am honored that they have chosen my family and me to take the torch.

Long-time employees Chuck Bachner, Christine Malynn, and Noreen Maggio have also been instrumental to the success of the agency.  The front-lines team is crucial to the success of any business.  And they’ve had a terrific team here at Slee for many years.  Noreen Maggio, with the current staff by her side, will continue to lead the Slee Agency.  “The reputation of the agency speaks for itself,” explained Duffy.  “I intend to continue that legacy.”

A Message from David Bartlett:

David Bartlett, President and co-owner of Charles A Slee Agency, wishes to express his sincere congratulations and gratitude to new owner, Marc Duffy. Mr. and Mrs. Bartlett have enjoyed a long-time friendship with the late, Paul Duffy, and wife, Janice over many years. The Duffy Insurance Agencies are perfectly aligned with the Slee Agency in their commitment to customers first, and the community of Marblehead.

“We’re very excited here at Slee.  As we’ve gotten to know Duffy Insurance Agency, we sense the deep experience the Duffy team brings and feel their commitment to us, our clients and the Marblehead, Swampscott, and North Shore community.  As we move forward with the fresh new outlook of the new ownership, we’re the same staff eager to service our customers in the friendly and efficient manner the they’ve always enjoyed.  We have the best of both worlds – we’re still your small town insurance agency while having additional resources to better respond to your insurance needs,” Said Noreen Maggio, Office Manager and Long Time Slee Employee.

The Charles A. Slee acquisition marks the 3rd acquisition of 2021 that Duffy Insurance has successfully completed. Since December 2020, the agency has acquired three other local independent insurance agencies. The following are links to those announcements:
