Deland, Gibson acquires Franklin’s Keefe Insurance

Deland, Gibson Insurance Associates, a leading Massachusetts Insurance and Risk Management consultant, announced that it has acquired Keefe Insurance in Franklin, MA as of September 30th, 2021.

Chip Gibson, CEO of Deland, Gibson said: “We are thrilled to partner with Keefe Insurance. They are an extremely well-respected and talented organization. Keefe Insurance has been a pillar of the Franklin community for over 100 year’s and they are an ideal fit for Deland, Gibson.”

Retiring are long-time owners, Peter Brunelli and Bob Keras. In commenting on the sale of their agency, they said:

“After four decades as employees and owners of Keefe Insurance, we are exceptionally happy with our decision to partner with Deland, Gibson Insurance Associates, Inc. This association offers a smooth and seamless transition for both our valued clients and incredible staff. We are as excited for the future of Keefe Insurance as we are proud of our role in setting it on this path.”

To ensure continuity among the Keefe customers and team, the next generation of leadership has been promoted from within and it is staying within the Family. Matt Keras, son of Bob Keras, and Nephew of Peter Brunelli, has been promoted to Managing Director. Matt will lead the team with Office Manager, Leslie Joyce, to continue the mission of Providing Peace of Mind Through Proactive Service.

Ted Gibson, President of Deland, Gibson remarked: “It has been a pleasure to work with Peter, Bob and the Keefe Team. We see an opportunity to bring more resources and capabilities to the Keefe Customers as well as growing the presence in Franklin and surrounding communities.”

Michael Wendling (Above in the blue jacket) of NESG Insurance Mergers & Acquisition Brokerage, Inc. acted as the business broker for Keefe Insurance in this transaction.
