CONCORD, NH – Today, the New Hampshire Insurance Department (NHID) announces the promotion of Keith Nyhan as the Deputy Commissioner of

the department. Deputy Commissioner Nyhan has served as Director of the Consumer Services unit since 2007. “Keith has an impressive history of distinguished service to the state and his community,” said New Hampshire Insurance Commissioner DJ Bettencourt. “He is well respected not only for the skills that he brings to his job, but also for the commitment and integrity demonstrated throughout his distinguished career. He has been a tremendous asset to many of us, and the department has benefitted greatly from his insight and experience since his arrival at NHID.”

Keith brings over 28 years of expertise in the financial services and insurance sectors to his role as Deputy Commissioner of the New Hampshire Insurance Department. Beginning his tenure at the NHID as the Examiner in Charge of the Life and Health Market Conduct Unit, he hasconsistently demonstrated expertise in compliance management, consumer advocacy, and regulatory oversight. “I am deeply honored by the trust of my colleagues,” said Keith Nyhan. “Embracing this role as Deputy Commissioner, I am excited about the challenges and the opportunity to lead the oversight of the products and licensees we regulate. I am fully prepared for this role and motivated to address any forthcoming challenges.”
“I also wish to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all those I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with over the past sixteen years,” continued Nyhan. “Our collective journey has been marked by shared learning and unwavering mutual respect, and I am confident that this spirit will continue to guide our path forward.”
